I "FILL" GOOD!!
Lake Louise (Canada) - Today was, without doubt, one of the greatest days in the career of downhill skier Peter Fill from Castelrotto (BZ). The 26-years old skier, a cousin of the champion Denise Karbon, make his leap into the league of champions.
Peter could not have had a better start the season; this being his first of many wins to come that will lead him to the next World Championship in Val d'Isere (F). This win was a result of the two characteristics Peter never lacks - strength and determination. Of course... a little luck never hurts either!
The results of Peter's hard work a summer training sessions are already showing and he can put behind him the bad luck of the past season.
According to Peter: "I want to thank my family, trainers, sponsors, friends and the supporters who believed in me. Today I have finally been able to give something back for all their support and encouragement over the years".
Fill's success at Lake Louise is the result of a career that started in 2002, when he won the Junior World Championship. In January 2006 Peter won his first podium in skiing's ultimate pinnacle, the World Cup.After this first positive results, he won other seven podiums, but after these mentioned successes the top result slipped away. During the 2007/2008 season, Peter was not able to repeat the results that helped him reaching the sixth ranking in the Overall World Cup, getting only positing n. 4 and few others relative important placements.
Thankfully, this all behind him now. On and up from here Peter!
