We are the Vice World Champions!

The personal opinion of great champions about Peter's silver medal

Compagnoni Deborah (3 Golden Medals at World Championship)
My sincere congratulations to Peter for this big achievement on a really difficult slope!
It’s a particularly technical slope where it’s fundamental curving the right way. Peter ‘season was outlined of ups and downs and therefore medias find it difficult to dedicate him the appropriate room in this specific competition, but it was just a matter of time: his abilities and his skills came out on a slope where only the best could afford some results!

Kostner Isolde (2 Golden and 1 Silver Medals in Super-G at the World Championship)
Peter was amazing, but Cuche was invincible! Only the second placement was affordable today, and Peter was able to reach it only for few hundredths . What a pity for Innerhofer’s 4th placement, even though today the Italians showed a great team performance. I was sure the Azzurri were able to heat up supporter’s hearts and I’m happy for Peter: but tonight he should not celebrate to much….

Runggaldier Peter (Silver Medal in downhill at the World Championship in Saalbach 1991)
Peter’s performance was great! Val d’Isère is a difficult and really technical slope, therefore the medal he won today has a stronger value. In World Championship as well as in Olympic Games only the first three placements matter and Peter showed his ability in keeping a clear mind in crucial moments.
I hope his nerves will not crack up now, because he needs maximal concentration for the downhill next Saturday , when he has to face all those he left behind today!!

Thoeni Gustavo (5 Golden and 2 Silver Medals at World Championship)
I saw Peter’s competition in TV! His performance was really good! I’m really happy he could give his best in the most important competition of the year, the one which really counts!
The slope is very difficult and only the best could afford achieving the best placements, there is no room for amateurs. I never doubted on Peter’s abilities and I was sure he would be able reaching the podium, since he prove what he’s able to do the whole season through. When results failed to be obtained, there were specific reasons for, like the broken platen in Kitzbuehel. I wish him a long career and if he will be able to manage his force and strengths and hopefully he will not get injured, his career will also be really successful.
