Peter Fill at Giro d’Italia between Armstrong and Di Luca
The pink jersey holder, Danilo Di Luca, presents Peter with De Rosa bicycle
Yesterday the Giro d’Italia came to finish in Alpe di Siusi in the Dolomites, Peter’s current residence place. Unfortunately he couldn’t attend it as he was on his well deserved vacation in Cuba. Though today, despite his fatigue from a long flight and difference in time zones, the World Vice-Champion was at the race start at his birthplace Bressanone.
Shortly before the race, the Italian premium-brand De Rosa congratulated Peter with a successful season by presenting him with a brand-new De Rosa racing bicycle, handed over by the Giro’s current leader, Danilo Di Luca.
“During the summer months I ride 3.000 kilometers as part of my training, so this bike will be very useful. I want to thank De Rosa for this excellent present and wish Danilo the best of luck for the rest of the Giro”, said the enthusiastic cycling-fan.
Peter also exchanged a couple of words about skiing in beautiful Dolomites with the seven-time winner of Tour de France Lance Armstrong. Armstrong’s autobiography “It’s not about the bike” is Peter’s favorite book.
