Peter Fill’s impressive comeback!
An incredible 5th place at his first training run after the grave injury
No one has expected such a high level performance at his first official training run at the Lauberhorn (Wengen, Switzerland), the longest downhill run in the Ski World Cup.
People close to him have already noticed what a remarkable progress he has been making in the last weeks since his injury of tendons in the groin and abdominal muscle area, but an important performance like this, 0.32 seconds behind Swiss Cuche, has impressed everyone.
Before the start of the training run Peter still had some doubts whether or not he should start the race on Saturday this weekend, but all doubts have disappeared when he read his time on display, placing him 5th among 30 athletes who already descended, all the strongest and currently best fit downhill specialists of World Cup among them.
“I was maximally aggressive, tried to show the best possible time and get the feel of a real race, because I am out of practice.”
